this recipe is defiantly going to become a keeper for when I crave something Mexican

day 20 was just a simple thrown together supper. steamed cabbage, brown rice & kidney beans

day 21 was a baked potato yea I know pitiful, LOl but I did have oatmeal for breakfast, with all that sewing to do I didn't take time out for eating

this has been a wonderful & refreshing three weeks, meeting Kristen through her book & her website has been a blessing

I'm not sure what God has in store for us but I know it will be good!I am working on videos for teaching through You-Tube, in a few weeks it'll be time to decorate for our Valentine banquet at church, there's a book from my bookshelf I'm wanting to read next"SECRETS OF THE SECRET PLACE by Bob Sorge

(Matt.6:6) But, you when you pray go into your room and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly

I'm thinking of beginning a "What An I reading" to my post entries, I pray this blog will not be just another blog you read but one you can come to & be uplifted, be encouraged, renewed, even get a good laugh from time to time

The full soul loatheth an honeycomb:but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet (Prov 27:7)

How sweet are thy words unto my taste, yea sweeter than honey to my mouth (Ps.119:103)

almond butter, coconut, raisins, cinnamon makes us these tasty little almond bites found on pg.87 humm does this make for a sweet treat? maybe because I was hungry for something sweet? lol almond butter has an almost peanut butter taste & has a sweet nutty flavor

what do yo get when you sauteed onions & yellow bell pepper with green beans?why green beans with little rays of sunshine , that's what lol seriously that's what the recipe calls them lol, pg.145 ,only after if was all over with I noticed it called to "grate" the pepper??? oh well it was good this way too lol, two sad little taters in the fridge were only to happy to be sauteed with parsley & join all this sunshine on the plate this has been a wonderful, enlightening & enriching three weeks, of soaking on God's goodness we're not sure what all God has in store for us but we know doors are opening & we're about to step out into a deeper walks & a higher level of our Ministry
Is not this the fast that I have chosen?to loose the bands of wickedness,to undo the heavy burdens and to let the oppressed go free and that ye may break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6)

**Quote from Fixing Your heart On Titus 2 **Each Monday, we share a project that relates to being a Christian woman and living out our Titus 2 roles in real life. For more information about this feature or to submit a project idea, click here.

This week’s project is:
to share your words with someone as an encouragement. Send a card to someone. Write a letter. Send a quick e-mail sharing your gratitude. Call someone just to say, “Hi.”

This week, be intentional each day and choose to lift up a woman in your life (daughter, sister, mother, friend, neighbor, etc…). **

While visiting At The well I came across this link, what a powerful word
"encouragement" we all need it as much as we need to also give it
**dictionary **encouragement means simply to encourage,to inspire with hope,to give support, to give confidence, one that encourages

in 1Sam.30:6 we see that David encouraged himself in the Lord

And David was greatly distressed, for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters, but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God

whether we get or give encouragement it is always good but then there are times like David when we must take a stand & say I know my God is able! encourage yourself with the word, encorage yourself with annointed praise music as you go about cleaning the house, rejoice in this day God has given you for this is the day that the Lord has made, rejoice & be glad in it!

Jesus Jesus at your feet
Oh to dwell and never leave
Jesus Jesus at your feet
Nowhere else I'd rather be.........

do you ever just crave his word more & more,at the end of each day can we say we've spent enough time sitting at his feet absorbing his plans for us? his blessings, do we study to show ourselves approved enough to be able to tell others why & how he can do the same for them as he has for us? if you woke in your right mind today he you have reason to give him praise,he doesn't have to give us another day, he chooses to to in order that we might have one more day to praise him , one more day to come to know him as our Lord & savior, so don't put off another day to acknowledge him before it's too late ,seek the Lord while he still can be found

PSALMS 146:1-2
Praise ye the Lord, praise the Lord oh my soul
While I live will I will praise the Lord
I will sing praises unto my God
While I have any being
we are down to four days of the Daniel fast, wow can you believe it!almost three weeks have come & gone ,this is day 17,leftovers from yesterday was as good as when I 1st cooked it lol Mexican Rice & Beans (pg173)

this mixture of brown rice, rotell tomatoes, black beans, cumin,Chile powder, garlic, red onion& parsley makes this recipe a keeper for when we want Mexican but don't wantta go out, there's a little prep work sauteing the onions, simmering for 45 min ohh but so worth the wait

the other day I came across corn chowder on Kristens website(The Ultimate Daniel Fast) & decided to give it a try, this one required stepping outta my comfort zone of food as I knew it ,potatoes I knew, corn I knew but almond milk???? LOL bring to a boil, take 1/2 & blend through blender then return to pan (this makes it thick) then simmer simer simmer were all these little steps worth it? yep it was for it was might tasty!

The Many Hats We Wear

~by Rev. Lucinda Schersing, DD

How many times have you felt that you were simply spread too thinly over too many situations? It is not surprising that we often feel that way. We each wear many hats within one day.

There is the hat of the child-like qualities of innocence and joy. This is the hat we wear when we look at the world around us and enjoy each moment, watching the dew on the grass as it is kissed by the sun; or listening to the sound of birds singing or flying across the sky. It is this hat that we wear when we take a moment and watch with interest as a butterfly flits from one flower to another or watch as a bug scurries along keeping whatever appointments a bug keeps.

The hat of worry and sorrow is probably the heaviest hat to wear. This is when we become hopelessly lost in the problems of the moment or deep despair or the sorrow of loss.

The hat of the teacher is one that we all wear. Whether that is our profession or we are teaching our children. We also wear this hat when we demonstrate or teach a skill to adults. Sometimes this hat feels far too large as we begin to realize that what we are teaching can affect many lives in many ways for many years.

The hat of compassion, empathy, sensitivity, love and kindness looks very much like the hat of the teacher and yet, in some ways resembles the hat of child-like qualities. Each time we offer a small act of kindness - what we might consider 'the right thing to do' - we are wearing this hat.

There is the hat of creativity which is the hat of the poet, writer, painter, craftsperson, photographer. This hat expresses feelings through the arts and crafts and touches all our hearts and lives.

What does your hat look like? Is it well balanced so that a gust from the Winds of Surprise will not knock it off? Do you change your hat often? There is nothing so forlorn as a hat that is battered and rumpled because it has become unbalanced from being worn too long or a hat that simply sat on the shelf, unworn.

have you ever stopped to think how many hats you wear? Think of hats as talents, are you putting them to good use, in Matt.the 25th chapter we read about Jesus giving one man five
talents, one he gives two & the other one talent

(v15) and unto one he gave five talents,to another two, and to another one to every man according to his several ability and straightway took his journey

throughout this chapter there are two that used what God gave them & was multiplied with more talents, but there is one who hid his talent, & God is displeased & takes his talent away

whatever hat God has chosen for you to wear in this moment , wear it to the best of your ability, whether it's playing the piano, teaching a class, cooking a meal for someone, you'll be surprise how many hats you realize your wear once you think about it,here are just a few of my hats that Iwear

as a child of God I strive for a deeper walk each day,to be a willing vessel & always give him praise

as a wife I stand in agreement for our spiritual, physical, financial needs

as a mom I'm only a phone call away with an open heart, bended knees & ears to listen

as a Nanna I'm a playmate,a friend,a counselor,an adviser

as a neighbor I am a wittiness that God is able

as a church member I am a prayer warrior

as a friend,my door is always open

as a speaker I study to show myself approved

as a singer, I sing because there is an empty tomb

the many hats we wear are gifts from God but the greatest gift of God is eternal life through Jesus (Romans 6:23) & if we are faithful we shall wear that last & final hat
(1Peter 5:4) ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not
(Rev.2:10) unto death and I will give thee a crown of life

I pulled out the Juicer this morning. 1st time we've used it, sad I know LOL. feed through juicer they say, looks & sounds simple right? well not sure I should tell this but someone may need a laugh ( Pr.17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine) ok so I'm pushing fruit through the top it's going nowhere fast, I give up & pull out the smoothie blender
lol then proceed to pour that into the juicer when I notice that the hole I was trying to push everything through was actually just the top ha ha but I did get my juice outta all that after all LOL (hello sunshine orange juice pg.190)

after the excitement of breakfast I wondered if I should attempt supper LOL,sauteed yellow squash, zucchini ,red onions & brown rice seemed like a safe way to go lol & umm umm good!

now to settle in for the night with popcorn & a movie,Abraham will come on at 8:00 on cable you can also pull this movie up on You-Tube

As I proceeded to make the sweet potato pie on pg.155, Oh ye of little faith comes to mind found in Matt. 6 ,no eggs, no sugar, humm will it be pie or casserole LOL, had I had more faith in the pie I would had noticed that the oven wasn't on after the 30 min was up to pull it out LOL LOL yea yea I did it waited, watched & go to pull it out & it looked the same as it went in

so after the second attempt of turning on the oven & another 30 minute wait, waa laa pie! humm it looked like pie but would it cut like pie or turn into casserole LOL I suppose if I had not doubted the oven would of been on the first time LOL LOL

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for
the evidence of things not seen

Hosea 10:12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy, break up your fallow ground for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you

here we are twelve days into the Daniel fast,it's still amazing how quickly the days seem to pass & no repercussions from no meat LOL

today all I've wanted to do is absorb God' word & an overwhelming feeling to just cry as I crave to sit closer & closer at his feet, like the song "all I wantta do is love you, all I wantta do is sit here right at your feet...... I feel new grounds are being plowed up in our lives ,doors are opening in our ministry & God never ceases to amaze us

Jamaican Chile was on the menu for today, this time I didn't make it quite so hot LOL

for breakfast, a fruit mixture of tangelos, blueberries,
strawberries, green grapes, red grapes ,a touch of coconut made it taste like ambrosia(we didn't even miss the mayo) lol

(Acts 7:16) ye shall know them by their fruits

(7:20) wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them

strawberries are almost out of season, pretty soon they will look like strawberries but wont taste like strawberries as we know them to taste
are the fruits of the spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 manifesting in your life?
(John 15:4) Abide in me and I in you as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine,no more can ye except ye abide in me
I encourage you to read the whole chapter of John 15
today for breakfast we experiment with tofu,I'm not a big fan of the look or the feel of it but I do step outta the box of norm once in awhile & try new things lol
strawberry/banana smoothie pg.79

salad for a late dinner
cucumber, olives & banana pepper rings with venerate dressing(a touch goes a long ways)

it felt so good to purge the fridge today, to rid it of things we can't have for now, does a body good to have a purty fridge LOL free from inpuritites,to purify as if by cleansing
(2Tim.2:21 ) if a man therefore purge himself from these ,he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use and prepared for every good work set apart,to make holy,to purify
(1Tim.4:5) For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer

purging doesn't just apply to what we eat but every aspect of our lives, what are we filling our spirits with by what we watch, by what we read, by how we spend out time, all things work together to the good for them that love the Lord, but there must be balance making sure we put God first in everything we do

here we are at day seven of our Ultimate Daniel fast, wow where did the week go? one down & two to go,tonight I kept it simple, salad with tomatoes, cucumber,& vinaigrette dressing

& homemade vegetable soup, potatoes,frozen vegetables,diced tomatoes

Psalms 70:1
Make haste,O God to deliver me,make haste to help me O Lord

As we went about our day today,we stopped off at Hobby Lobby, just so happens one of the many business around it is a Full Moon Bar-B-Q in the same parking lot , as we took deep breaths of that sweet aroma in the air, I mention we'd better hurry & get inside Hobby Lobby!LOL

six days into the fast & can't believe we're not missing the meat"yet" LOL but all ended well, we can home & made a deliscious supper , I wanted to do something different with the Brussels sprouts & thought humm I'll saute some onions to go with them, then I came across on pg 147 "Italian Style Broccoli ",humm this could work lol & the recipe called for tomatoes, garlic, onion & waa laa another keeper for the recipe files

there is also a recipe called "cinnamon baked apples"(apples-cinnamon-apple juice) humm I have all those things, think ,think with the brain humm you're allowed sweet potatoes so wa la I came up with apple & sweet tater cinnamon bake LOL they cooked down in the apple juice & was so tender & um um good!

the rice in the picture looks white, but trust me it's brown rice LOL
And if any man hunger let him eat at home ICor.11:34

Anything that says chili has to taste good , right? well it wasn't good, it was DELICIOUS! lol
We had a busy day , going here & there, ending up at the grocery store & coming home making Jamaican chili in Kristen's book The Ultimate Daniel fast, this recipe is a keeper for sure

you start out sauteing onions & yellow bell peppers in olive oil till translucent aww can you smell that?

then add all other ingredients & spices

bring to a boil then cover & simmer for 30 min. do you have trouble wanting to take the lid off to peek or stir when it tells you to do something like this? lol but I must walk away & let the simmer do it's thing LOL & the wait is so worth it, you'll discover that it thicken & all those flavors blended ohhh so heavenly now where's my bowl I'm hungry!

**just a small note** hubby opened the rotell/chili tomatoes meant for when I make the green salsa instead of diced tomatoes which made it a little spicy but not so's you couldn't eat it so if you like more of a kick go with the rotell ,now he gets to go back to the store tomorrow for another can of rotell/diced tomatoes lol
