persecuted: the art of being persecuted to oppress or harass with ill treatment

(v10) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven

righteousness sake: to be persecuted for standing up for  what is right

If you live a Godly life

If you are humbling yourself before God

If you are delighting yourself in God

If you are feasting on his word

this world is going to persecute your walk with God

cross reference: (2Tim.3:12)  yea and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution 

with this walk there comes persecution but like David we can cry out Lord heal my soul! & he will hear & deliver us for there is healing for the soul at the feet of Jesus
