ARE WE TOO BUSY?

BUSY..cluttered with detail to the point of being distracted

The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy,I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10)

lets look at the words “steal”  “kill” “destroy”

Steal…to take without right or permission

in this chapter Satan is the thief ,when we become so busy, we become tired, which may result in no Bible reading time, no prayer time, the meaning of the word busy does just what it says, distracting us from those things

Kill…..to deprive life, to cause to cease operating

after  a while, a time of no one on one time with the Lord, our faith starts to dwindle and become weak, we no longer hear that small still voice, the enemy starts to kill the desire to read your Bible, go to church, be around other believers, you slowly cease to operate within the spiritual gifts

Destroy…to tear down, destroy, to render uneffective

the enemy's desire is to destroy ones testimony to tear down their reputation, to cause them to become uneffective that is why it is so important to put on the whole amour of God (Eph.6:10-18)

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Matthew( 25:1-13) we have the five foolish virgins, no man knows the day nor the hour so we are to be ready when that time comes, the five foolish, were they more foolish than  just too busy?

Luke (14:12-24) is the parable of the great feast, they were all too busy to come with excuses

Luke (10:38-42) we have Mary and Martha, they received Jesus into their house, Martha is busy setting the table & getting things ready while Mary just want to sit at his feet, when Martha ask Jesus to make Mary help her, notice what he tells her, he never says what she’s doing is wrong just that she is busy doing what she’s doing

It’s not wrong to be busy, that’s just everyday life, we just need to learn to balance it,when we put Jesus first everything will balance out, I am a prim example to myself, with seven grand kids ranging from 2 –15 years old, being Associate pastors, Ladies Ministry Director, home life, family it can be way to easy to become too busy & I have been guilty of being too busy and finding myself saying I need my Jesus time!

At the end of John 10, Jesus says he is the one that has come to give us life and that we may have it more abundantly, he wants us to enjoy and embrace our life, our family and more importantly our walk with him, just don’t get so busy you forget where your help comes from.
