HAVE THINE OWN WAY LORD
Do you ever wonder about the History behind the older hymnals, where they came from, what inspired the writer to write them, you will find researching them to be inspiring as well a as refreshing
Adelaide Pollard was depressed and thought that God had deserted her. She
had a great burden for the country of Africa and she believed that she
should go there as a missionary, but now as she was preparing to sail, it
was evident that the funds she needed could not be raised. That evening she
read Jeremiah 18:3,4, the story of the potter. As she read she believed the
story was her own. "Perhaps", she said, "my questioning of God's will
shows a flaw in life, so God has decided to break me, as the potter broke
the defective vessel, and then to mold my life again in His own pattern."
That evening she wrote the poem, which became the hymn, "
Have Thine Own Way,
Lord." Adelaide Pollard finally did minister for God in Africa. She would
speak publicly until she was 72 years old.

Have Thine own way, Lord! have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter; I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter then snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
Have Thine own way, Lord! have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power - all power- surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!
Have Thine own way, Lord! have Thine own way!
Hold o'er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me!

BE STILL
In this fast paced life we live we often forget to "be still", "to listen," the word says be still & know that I am God, whatever you're believing for , whatever you're waiting for," be still"," listen" let your faith arise & remember how God brought you through the fire, how he reached down & caused you to walk upon ...the water when the flood waters were all around you, does he not promise that when we go through the fire we will not get burned, not so much as the smell of smoke, when we go through the floods we will not drown? what you are believing for today is no different than before for he is the same God yesterday, today & forever, so stand strong in your faith today for it is when we are about to give up is when the door opens

MULTI-TASKING
clutter free challenge day 4
Today is day 4 of the clutter free challenge Glynnis wrote a fantastic article on multitasking today http://glynniswhitwer.com/ I’ve never really gave it much thought till today, as I’ve always been a multi-tasker so to speak, after reading today's post I saw the meaning of the word in a whole new light, here is my comment I left
ouch, stop stepping on my foot as the ole saying goes when the preacher hits too close to home LOL! multitasking has been a part of what I am longer than I’ve been who I am LOL!but when I read it, seems like pow it turned on a light! just today I’m on the computer, a friend pops up, time goes by I notice the time, I motion for hubby to bring me the portable phone, which I went from computer( still talking) to kitchen to race to cook dinner before he had to go to work, all this time she is asking serious questions which I answered & guided her as to how to ask the lord for this need as I race around the kitchen, she later had to go & hubby left out for work , I see clearly now that my mind should of been more on the issue at hand & not on dinner
this challenge not only challenges you to line up your home according to the word of God but it challenges you to de-clutter your mind, here is an example of day 2 posted by Glynnis
**QUOTE**
- I’ve looked at an overflowing closet and thought “Maybe those too-small shoes won’t hurt me next time I wear them.” Not logical. They will.
- I’ve held on to a gift I will never use, in order to avoid hurting someone’s feelings. That seems like a nice thing to do, but I’m being controlled by my assumptions and fear of rejection.
In each of those decisions (and so many more), my thoughts directed me to something not in my best interest. And in each instance, I never once asked God what He would want me to do.As Christians we have a hotline to God’s wisdom (James 1:5). Plus, we have the Holy Spirit living in us who is our counselor (John 14:26), and the Bible tells us we have “the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16). That’s a powerhouse of help!
I looked at multi-tasking in a whole new light today even though I was able to guide as to the why’s & how two's & God is always good to give me the right thing to say at the right time, I wonder did I give her enough, could I had gave her more had I been in a quiet room with nothing going on but the sound of her voice,I thought about how when I’m doing other things like reading early in the mornings as me & Jesus watch the world wake up & come to life, when I go into that secret place where he whispers my name & calls me friend when I’m studying for a speaking engagement at church, when I’m researching words, I love words! my mind gives these things it’s undivided attention,multi-tasking will always be a part of our lives but should we re-think what we’re multi-tasking, think about that the next time the phone rings!

EXAMINE OURSELVES
January is a month for fresh new beginnings, as we cull out, declutter, organize, fresh paint here & there, new looks, fix things along the way ,it is also a new year of new beginnings, new dreams, new hopes I still love Isa.43:18 where it says, Do not remember the past events pay no attention to things of old, look for I am about to do a new thing, even now it is coming,do you not see it ,indeed I will make a way in the wilderness ,rivers in the dessert
on a more spiritual note let us de-clutter our minds & our hearts, reexamine what we watch, what we read, what we say,
And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
(Mark 4:24)
Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.(Ps.26:2)
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
(2Cor.13:5)
HAVE I NOT COMMANDED YOU,BE STRONG AND COURAGOUSE, DO NOT BE TERRIFIED,DONOT BE DISCOURAGED FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL BE WITH YOU WHEREEVER YOU MAY GO
Joshua 1:9 is also a wonderful scripture reminding us God will never leave nor forsake us 2011 was filled with celebrations, joys as well as sorrows we are commanded to be strong & as we continue to keep believing & trusting in him there will be new doors to walk through in his timing!

are you praying for your spouse in the 31 days to pray for your spouse challenge, today is day 5 Integrity (prov.20:7) The one who lives with integrity is righteous, his children who come after him will be happy,
what a powerful verse, what a powerful word "INTEGRITY" the quality or condition of being whole or undivided, completeness,
there's nothing more wonderful than feeling whole in Jesus & the things of this world can not divide you from him, the cares of this world, responsibilities, the work place can all play havoc on our spouses, pray for that hedge of protection around them & believe God to shower them with integrity

BEHOLD I DO A NEW THING
As I was thinking about the New Year I was inspired by Mary’s post on Isaiah 43 ,over at “At The Well” as I began to read Isaiah 43:18-19 ,not only does it speak of not looking back but look forward just as 2011 is over we are now stepping into a New Year filled with new opportunities, these verses spoke to my spirit as if this was Jesus' New Years resolutions to us, I’d like to back up & begin with verse 14 then 18-19
THIS IS WHAT THE LORD YOUR REDEEMER,THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL SAYS, DO NOT REMEMBER THE PAST EVENTS PAY NO ATTENTION TO TO THINGS OF OLD, LOOK I AM ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING NEW; EVEN NOW IT IS COMING,DO YOU NOT SEE IT,INDEED I WILL MAKE A WAY IN THE WILDRENESS ,RIVERS IN THE DESSERT
Joshua 1:9 is also a wonderful scripture reminding us God will never leave nor forsake us 2011 was filled with celebrations, joys as well as sorrows we are commanded to be strong & as we continue to keep believing & trusting in him there will be new doors to walk through in his timing
