This Thanksgiving we were blessed to be able to visit my brother-n-law  & his family in Virginia along with my father-n-law, it was a long trip but so worth it ,there are so many things to be thankful for, what a blessing  to be able to be able to come into the presence of the Lord & when we enter into that secret place where he calls us friend & we know that we are his & he is ours

DELIGHT THYSELF IN THE LORD

 

Last night I bustled around the kitchen making fudge &  some Honey nut  Chex ,making sure I had everything for the main course, threw  a load of cloths in, got my recipe in on time for the 12 weeks of Christmas cookies, all was right with the world & I was done  lol,because  today  a few of us ladies will meet at Ms Carolyn's for a fun filled day of baking & making candies for our Holiday orders , then it happened…….

as I go to prepare the main course it dawns on me I forgot  a very important ingredient..frozen mixed veggies  oh my goodness & I’ve got to leave in just a few short hours & no money  nor time for the store , think! think! with the brain! ……hummm I do have tons of quarters in change from my show lol now mind you lunch is  a “surprise” & I could just not do it & no one would be the wiser but do I really want the enemy to have victory over this one, I think not! it just means getting ready earlier than planed,cooking in a  sweet apron to keep my cloths clean instead of my comfy pj’s , still doing the same things in the same amount of time only backwards because no matter what comes my way this is the day that the Lord has made & I will rejoice & be glad in it!

great message from Joyce today, Stop waiting on somebody else to have the job of making you happy, this is true in so many ways, she made me think how many times to we walk past the flower section in the stores, ever wonder why we don’t buy ourselves flowers LOL today I have plans on rearranging & organizing  my office & perhaps when I buy groceries I’ll pick up a bouquet of flowers for my desk, not because I deserve, them, not because it’s my birthday, not because I don’t love myself  but simply because flowers make me smile & I love them & when someone ask why the flowers? I’ll smile & say because I’m worth it! LOL

Prov.9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy one is understanding

O Observation

Wisdom is defined as understanding of what is true, right or lasting, common sense, good judgment not to do desperate things

A Application

studying  & being knowledgeable of the the word will give us the wisdom to use good judgment when  faced with obstacles in our lives

Ps..49:3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

P Prayer

Lord open the eyes of my heart , fill me with the knowledge of they word as I study to be able to show myself approved

God had plans for us before we were yet born

Jer.1:5 says, before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations

the next time you feel you're not important just remember  that before you were even born God had you on his mind & he had plans for your future

 

P Prayer

Lord I thank you that you cared enough to design my future before I was even thought of

"someone" we wont call names (our Pastor) lol said everybody should be up at 4am  as he has to be up to start his day,well what can one do at 4am ?clean the kitchen, run a load of cloths, sip coffee & listen to Jesus call you friend as you wait for the the sun to come up & thank him for those extra hours in the sewing room as I am down to 3 days till set up time for my 2 day Christmas show

there is something so special about the stillness of the morning,listening to God’s creations awaken as the darkness begins to fade & a new day comes over the horizon

Chapter 7 we are still learning to keep God’s commandments & to stay grounded & rooted so’s the able to recognize the snares of the enemy

Prov.7:1:1-2 My son keep my words and lay up my commandments with thee, keep my commandments and live and my law as the apple of thine eye

 

O OBSERVATION

here he is being told to guard his heart & keep his commandments deep in is heart, for the wages of sin is death

 

A  APPLICATION

Ephesians 6 instructs  us to put on the whole armour of God that we may withstand the wiles of the devil, when temptation comes it pays to be grounded in the word

 

P PRAYER

Lord help me not look to the left nor to the right but to you Lord in the days of trouble, I am who you say I am, I’ve been bought with a price & the enemy is defeated

CATCHING UP DAY 5 & 6

This past Sunday I was busy  getting everything ready for our Pastor’s Pastor Appreciation Sunday, I was so exhausted Sun evening I went to bed at 6am, but the service turned out great, the choir did great & the praise team was awesome! now for some catching up

DAY 5

S  Scripture

Prov.5:20-21 And why wilt thou my son,be ravished with a strange woman and embrace  the bosom of  a stranger,for the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord and he pondereth all his goings

 

O Observation

again the Lord is telling how important it is to guard our eyes

 

A Application guard your heart, know the word  that you may be able to resist the enemy when he tries to entice you

 

P Prayer

Lord I thank you for my soul mate, I thank you for all you’ve brought us through,I praise you for your continual hedge of protection around our marriage

 

DAY 6

S SCRIPTURE

prov.6:20-23 My son keep my Father's commandments and forsake not the law of they Mother, bind them up continually upon thy heart and tie them about thy neck,when thou goest it shall lead thee,when thou sleepest it shall keep thee and when thou awakest it shall talk with thee, for the commandments is a lamp and the law is he light and reproofs of instruction are the way of life

 

O OBSERVATION

Mothers  are the best at teaching life's little lessons, take heed to what she tells you when teaching about keeping God’s word & the tricks of the enemy to entice you, keep her words on your heart

 

A PPLICATION

stay true to each other, stay grounded in God’s word and it will keep you from the snares of the enemy, give you rest & light your path

 

P PRAYER

as we stand  and agree together as one in the fullness of your grace we acknowledge that it takes three to make a marriage, as long as we stay in the center of your will you will be in the center of our lives

Today is Pastor appreciation day, there will be a great time of fellowship with a surprise guest speaker, special singing, the choirs been working  on for weeks, good food afterwards, today we share our love for our Pastor & his family

Lost souls to be saved

DAY 4 PROVERBS IN 31 DAYS

S Scripture:

Prov.4:25 Let thine eyes look right on and let  thine eyelids look straight before thee

 

O Observation:

I am reminded of Peter in Matt.14 when he asked “Lord if it be you then bid me  to come unto you on the water, as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus his faith allowed him to walk to Jesus but when he began to let his eyes look around at his surroundings, he got his eyes off Jesus & began to sink

 

A Application:

in the mist of the storms in our lives we are encouraged in the word not to look to the left nor to the right but to keep our eyes on Jesus

 

P Prayer:

Lord I crave to sit at your feet more& engulf your presence,when the enemy comes against me give me the strength to keep my eyes straight ahead & not on my circumstances

The beginning of the chapter we are still reading to keep God’s commandments on our hearts,to trust in the Lord, to listen to his word & to seek wisdom

O…..Observation

when we are in him & he in us then he is our peace

 

A… Application

after going through the tornado a few months back, yes there was a touch of fear but the peace of God surrounded us & it was that peace that allowed sweet sleep during those dark nights, if we surrender all to him & he lives in us then we have that assurance of everlasting life & nothing by any means shall harm us

 

P….Prayer

The Lords is my shepherd I shall not want ,he maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me besides the still waters, he restoreth my soul,he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake,yea thou I walk through the valley of death I shall fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me, thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies  thou anointest  my head with oil,my cup cup runneth over, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever ( Ps.23)

(S) scripture:

Prov.2:1-2  my son if thou wilt receive my words and hide my commandments with thee so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and apply thine heart to understanding

 

(O) observation:when we listen & obey God's word then we attain wisdom, we are to seek God with all our heart, the enemy is out to steal kill & destroy, that is why it is important to know the word (Vs.11)discretion shall preserve thee,understanding shall keep thee

 

(A) Application:keep God’s commandments on your heart 

(P) Prayer:Lord enlighten my eyes to understanding thy word, help me to study to show myself approved that thy word may be planted deep in my heart when the enemy comes against me
