(V.5)Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the Earth
(V.6)Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled

BLESSED ARE YE WHEN MEN REVILE YOU
AND PERSECUTE YOU (MATT.5:11)
Lord help me be like David as I look to you, heal my soul
(v.11) Blessed are ye when men shall revile you and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake
revile : to use abusive language
persecute:to harass with ill treatment.to annoy
cross reference: If ye be reproached for the name of Christ happy are ye for the Spirit of Glory and of God resteth upon you, on their part he is evil spoken of but on your part he is glorified (1peter:4:14)
cross reference: having a good conscience that whereas they speak evil of you as evildoers do, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ (1peter:3:16)
persecution can run deep but if we do all that we know to do our accusers will be made to be ashamed, for like the saying goes, actions speak louder than words, we do not need to worry about deafening ourselves for we are known by the fruits we bare
Psalms 41-42 gives a wonderful example of persecution, restoration & healing for David
cross reference: yea mine own familiar friend in whom I trusted which did eat of my bread hath lifted his heel against me (Ps 41:9)
David is hurt that his friend could do such a thing in verse 5 he begins to have a conversation with his soul and says why are thou cast down o my soul? for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance
Blessed are they that are persecuted for righteousness sake for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven
friends will come & go throughout our lives, we are not to lose your savor for we are the salt of the world & a light in the darkness
in all the confusion & hurt that David went through from his friends, he made up his mind to keep his eyes on the Lord & he began to cry out
LORD HEAL MY SOUL!!!
living a Godly life, humbling ourselves before God,delighting in God with our praise, feasting on the word will feed the soul & when the soul gets fed the soul begins to heal & we can begin to dance like David did
like David our soul can be healed, have you been persecuted? look up & cry out
LORD HEAL MY SOUL!!!!
LET HIM RESTORE YOUR SOUL TODAY!

BLESSED ARE THEY WHICH ARE PERSECUTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE
FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD (MATT.5:10)
persecuted: the art of being persecuted to oppress or harass with ill treatment
(v10) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven
righteousness sake: to be persecuted for standing up for what is right
If you live a Godly life
If you are humbling yourself before God
If you are delighting yourself in God
If you are feasting on his word
this world is going to persecute your walk with God
cross reference: (2Tim.3:12) yea and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution
with this walk there comes persecution but like David we can cry out Lord heal my soul! & he will hear & deliver us for there is healing for the soul at the feet of Jesus

BLESSED ARE THE PEACE MAKERS
FOR THEY SHALL BE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD (MATT.5:9)
peacemaker: one who makes peace by settling disputes of others
when you have the peace of God in your heart then it will become second nature to become a peacemaker, you will do everything within your power to keep the peace in a situation , you have to have peace within yourself to be a peacemaker,
cross reference: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee(Isaiah 26:3)
a good way to have peace is to know in whom you put your trust in, stay rooted in the word, keep the spirit man within you fed with the word for when the spirit is weak & hungry then the peacemaker becomes a trouble maker
cross reference: when a mans ways please the Lord he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him (Prov.16:7)
Blessed are the peacemakers for the shall be called the children of God (Matt.5;9)
Monday, November 10, 2014
BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART
FOR THEY SAHLL SEE GOD (MATT:5;8)
Pureness: pure, sincere
the Greek word for pure is katharos which means to be clean, beamless, unstained from guilt
a pure heart involves having a heart toward God, no hypocrisy, no guile, no hidden motives
an uncompromising desire to please God in all things
(cross reference): create in me a pure heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me (PS.51:10)
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God

BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL
FOR THEY SHALL OBTAIN MERCY (MATT. 5:7)
Mercy: merciful, something in which to be thankful for, a disposition to be forgiving, to be kind
merciful: full of mercy,compassionate
Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy
obtain : to succeed in gaining possession of as a result of planning
cross reference: Blessed is he that considereth the poor the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble (Psalm 41:1)
we find a good example of mercy in Luke 10:30-35
here we have a man who was attacked, stripped naked & left for dead
(30) And Jesus answering saying a certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho & fell among thieves which stripped him of his raiment & wounded him & departed leaving him half dead
then there was two people that came by, seeing him in the ditch, what does the word say they did
(31-32)and by chance there came down a certain priest that way & when he saw him he passed by on the other side *and likewise a Levite when he was at the place came & looked on him & passed by on the other side
now you would of thought surely the priest would of stopped to check on him to pray for him , something! but he passed him by as well as the Levite, these are surely thoughts we would have today but in Bible days there were laws
Priests were supposed to be ritually clean--exemplars of the law. There would be immediate shame and embarrassment suffered by them at the expense of the people and their peers for such defilement. Having just completed his mandatory two weeks of service, he would then need to return and stand at the Eastern Gate along with the rest of the unclean. Furthermore, in addition to the humiliation involved, the process of restoring ritual purity was time-consuming and costly. It required finding, buying, and reducing a red heifer to ashes, and the ritual took a full week. The priest is in a predicament. Moreover, he cannot approach closer than four cubits to a dead man without being defiled, and he will have to overstep that boundary just to ascertain the condition of the wounded man.
read more at:
source: http://carm.org/parable-good-samaritan
then a third man comes by & sees him in the ditch, the Bible refers to him as a good Samaritan
(33)but a certain Samaritan as he journeyed came where he was and when he saw him he had compassion on him, (34)and went to him and bound up his wounds pouring in oil and wine and set him on his own beast and brought him to an Inn and took care of him
that next verse says he even paid for his room & told the Inn keeper if he need to stay a little longer, he’d come back and pay that too
Mercy: a little word with so much impact! every day that we live is because of his mercy!

BLESSED ARE THEY WHICH DO HUNGER AND THIRST
AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR THEY SAHLL BE FILLED (MATT:5:6)
hunger: experiencing hunger, desiring, lacking
thirst: dryness, desire to drink,craving
we have all know at some time what it mean to be hungry or to be thirsty but here the word is speaking of a spiritual hunger, a spiritual thirst, many are hungry, many are thirsty but the water Jesus gives is everlasting, when you feed from the word your soul becomes fulfilled, satisfied
cross reference: come to the water, delight yourself in the fatness of the word, hear him for he will make an everlasting covenant with you even as with David (Isaiah 55:1-4)
refresher: remember how David was hurt by his lifelong friends in Psalm 41? how he decided it was best to seek God & bury himself in the word? by doing do he was blessed more so & his soul was healed through the word
like the deer that panted for the water, let Jesus draw you to the well of everlasting water, feed on his word for Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness
cross reference: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life
Thursday, October 16, 2014
BLESSED ARE THE MEEK
FOR THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH (MATT:5:5)
meekness: gentle, showing patience, humility
cross reference: to speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers but gentle shewing meekness to all men (Titus 3:2)
to inherit something means to come into procession, to be made an heir that 7th verse tells us that being justified by his grace we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life
when we become a child of God we become his heirs & as an heir we are promised the inheritance of eternal life
for in my Father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you (John14:2)
meekness plays an important role in our walk with God to live in peace we must walk in peace
cross reference: they shall delight themselves in abundance of peace (PS.37:11)
1st Peter 3:7 also reminds us even as couples how important that it is to live in peace with one each other so that our prayers be not hindered
Blessed are the meek
Have you shown gentleness
Have you shown patience
Have you shown mercy
When was the last time you humbled yourself before God & said
Lord here I am!
when we become humble it is then we walk in an abundance of peace
Friday, October 10, 2014
BLESSED ARE THOSE THAT MOURN
FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTEDED(MATT.5:4)
Mourn: to express or feel grief or sorrow
Comforted: the capacity to give physical ease & well being
When we humble ourselves & stay in God’s word he will give peace, this I how we can have peace in the mist of sorrow
(cross reference Luke 6:21)
Blessed are ye that hunger now for ye shall be filled Blessed are ye that weep now for ye shall laugh
We all go through some kind of grief, perhaps our spirit has been grieved by hurt but even in the mist of our sorrow we are still blessed, if we continue to stay in the word, our spirit man will become full & satisfied, making him stronger, even in the hard times, stay humble towards God & he will fill your soul with laughter & you will laugh again!

BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT
FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD (Matt.5:3)
The word poor refers to humble, blessed are the humble

James & peter speak of Humbleness
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will lift you up(James 4:10)
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due season (1Peter 5:6)
when we humble ourselves God will exalt, raising up in rank, character or status

SPENDING TIME WITH GOD
A friend posted this little quote on FB but had other interest in mind as far as what would we”d do if we spent the day together she got a lot of response like sitting on the porch, shopping, reminiscing, sewing etc
but it got me thinking ,lets say God is asking the question & he is asking you if you could let go of your busy life, your worries, your need to be so organized so perfect, if I asked you to just stop & let it all go & spend one day with me totally surrender to me just you & me what would we do?
Are you spending enough time with Jesus?

I GIVE MYSELF AWAY
what an awesome thing to give yourself away , to lay it all at the alter so he can use you, are you letting God fight your battles? he hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me for there were many with me (Ps 55:18) cast thy burden before the Lord and he shall sustain thee

Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called the children of God ( Matt 5:9) are you a peace maker? Blessed are ye when men speak falsely against you don't lose your savor ye are the salt of the earth
As I began to read and study Matt 5 known as the beatitudes, I began to see these verses mean a whole lot more than being Blessed but seeking God, getting engulfed in his word & being like David when he cried out Lord heal my soul in Psalms, the more I read these verses, the more the Lord shows me, each verse is a whole message within it’s self so be sure to check back soon as I take you through the Beatitudes

LORD HELP ME SAY YES
Out of all the doors God has opened I do believe this one is the biggest one yet, it requires teaching through Skype all the way around the world to Pakistan
The door is open but the waters are so deep, help me Lord to say yes as you prepare me to go through this door
Sunday, August 31, 2014
DON’T WALK AWAY FROM YOUR DOOR
who when he was reviled, reviled not again, when he suffered, he threatened not but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously (1 Peter 2:23)
when insulted Jesus never answered back when he was threatened he did not threaten to get even but he entrusted his case to God, he bore our sins on the cross that we may die to sin & live to righteousness
whatever you find yourself going through give it over to Jesus, he's got your back & he's got this! every time a door is about to open storms will arise, stand firm like that tree planted by the water for it is when the storm passes the door opens,1 Cor. 16:9 says it well... for a great door & effectual is opened unto me & there are many adversaries...
that word effectual means sufficient to produce a desired effect, fully adequate which means able to satisfy a requirement so ! Cor. is telling us that there is about to be a shaking in the atmosphere, you are fully adequate to do what God has called you to & the very gates of Hell can not prevail when God opens that door, the enemy would love nothing more than to distract you away from that door right as it is about to open!

DO CLOUDS PRAY?
Psalms 148:4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
I love looking at the different shapes of clouds while riding along & while driving on a weekend trip to Florida this past weekend I noticed this cloud looked like it was praying,
I immediately thought of the picture of Jesus praying in the garden, just another confirmation God is everywhere, even in the clouds
God is good & if you look close you’ll realize he’s in every aspect of our lives
next time you’re outside, take a look at the clouds

MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands(2)serve the Lord with gladness come before his presence with singing(3)know ye that the Lord he is God it is he that hath made us and not ourselves we are his people and the sheep of his pasture (4)enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him and bless his name(5) for the Lord is good his mercy is everlasting and his truth endureth to all generations PSALM100
what a beautiful chapter, as you read that chapter, how many things do you see David is telling us what to do in this Psalm of Praise?
make a joyful noise
serve him with gladness
sing unto him
know that he is good
know who made you
we are his sheep
enter his presence with thanksgiving & praise
he is good
his mercy is everlasting
his truth endureth to all generations
feed on Gods word today & know that he is good, stop & give him praise , it is because of him we have our being

THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD
and let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands upon us yea the work of our hands establish thou it (PS.90:17)
the word establish means to be stable; the be secure; to be prepared; to be ready’ to be settled
we must ask ourselves, are we standing on a firm foundation? are we stable & secure in God or are we standing on shaky ground?
the Hebrew word for beauty is kindness;pleasantness; delightfulness;beauty; favor
choose to stand on that solid rock today, study to show thyself approved to be ready in season & out of season, stand firm be settled, rooted & grounded not going back & forth, the favor of God will radiate kindness, delightfulness & beauty
(PS.27:4) one thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple
what is it you seek for today?

APRONS FOR MISSIONS
four days and twenty five aprons later we are done!thanks to my two daughters who helped make this possible, the aprons are for Missionary friends of ours who wanted them for gifts for the ladies who run the schools, orphanages, bakeries etc. in Bustamante Mexico
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:15)
OVERDUE KINDNESS
kindness:the quality or state of being kind; an instance of kind behavior;to be generous
we often show kindness as thanks & to show our appreciation by doing the unexpected & going that extra mile to let them know that we love & appreciate them
(Prov.3:27) withhold not good from them whom it is due when it is in the power of thine hands to do it
notice how the scripture tells us to be kind especially when it is in the power of our hands to do it, this can be as simple as taking a friend to lunch, accompanying them to the doctor or just share an encouraging word
‘WHEN IT IS IN THE POWER OF THINE HAND TO DO IT’
throughout the word we find many who showed kindness, to name a few,
* Boaz to Ruth (Ruth cp.3)
* The Good Samaritan to the man who fell among thieves & left for dead(Luke10:33)
* David to mephibosheth in honor of Jonathan (2nd Sam.cp.9) this is a beautiful chapter how David showed kindness to the whole family because of Jonathan
have you missed an opportunity to show kindness when it was in the power of thine hands to do it?

THIS SO SWEET JUST TO TRUST HIM
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus just to take him at his word...
Are you trusting in him today?
Are you standing firm in his word?...
Have you found yourself asking
"God you said"
"God when?"
Ist Thess. reminds us faithful is he that calleth you who also will do it (1Thess.5:24)
God is always faithful
Trust him
Stand on his word

FAITH TO WALK ON WATER
As I looked out my window, trees were beginning to sway as the wind was getting up, the sky was darkening as though a storm may be on the horizon, as the sound of heavy rain began to fall I was reminded of another storm that took place long ago with a man on board whom when awaken, simply said peace be still & turned to those on board who were sore afraid & asked why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
(Mark 4:37-40) (37)and there arose a great storm of wind and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now full(38)and he was in the hinder part of the ship asleep on a pillow and they awake him and say unto him Master carest thou not that we perish?(39)and he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea Peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great calm(40)and he said unto them why are ye so fearful?how is it that ye have no faith?
It was Peter’s faith that allowed him to walk on the water, it was when he allowed fear to overtake his faith that he began to sink
Don’t let fear overtake your faith
keep your eyes on Jesus
and you will hear that still small voice saying
PEACE BE STILL !
Habakkuk 2 reminds us to keep watch , for the vision he has set before us will not tarry, the promise will come at the appointed time, don’t give up,many grow weary because they have lost sight of the vision God has put in their heart thou it tarry it will surely come!for if it was promised it will come!

I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR
I need thee every hour most precious Lord
No tender voice like thine
Can peace afford
I need thee oh I need thee
Every hour I need thee
O bless me now my savior
I come to thee
while standing at her kitchen sink a young wife & mother Annie Hawks began the feel a sweet presence around her as she wondered how could anyone live without the Lord in joy or pain, it was in that moment the words I need thee every hour begin to flow form her lips
I need thee every hour
it was sixteen years later she writes about how a great shadow fell over her life as she faced the lost of her husband, her mind went back to those words I need thee every hour in joy or pain, the song the Lord had given her 16 years earlier was what brought comfort & peace during her storm
(Psalms 86:7) says In the days of my trouble I will call upon thee for thou will answer me
We may not understand every storm that we face in our lives but we can be assured that he will always be there to see us through

READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
There’s reading then there’s really reading where you study & absorb what you’re reading, books we call a good read, books that inspire , books that encourage digging a little deeper by referencing certain words, studying a topic, knowing my love for books a friend passed on a few from her collection, with titles like
KNOWING GOD”S WORD
ABSOLUTE SURRENDER
HOSTING THE PRESENCE
THESE ARE THE DAYS OF ELIJAH
THE FIRE OF HIS HOLINESS
WHICH NONE CAN SHUT
NEST ABOVE THE ABYSS
I can’t wait to get into them & share with you what they’re all about, how about you? how you like to read your books? do you like to read? do you truly love to read or just you feel you have to read?
we sometimes read the paper to be reading it to see what’s going on, we read through magazines mostly awing at the pictures, skipping most of the articles, we all read in some form or fashion, when it comes to God’s word is reading along with the pastor the only time you read it, do you feel you have to read it because, you’re told to read it or do you love to read it,absorb it, single out certain words dig out the meaning
for example say you single out the word home you find it’s meaning a lot different than a house, what does the word home mean to the Virtuous women in proverbs, a home provides shelter, isn’t this what the Mimi nit woman did?
I’d like to encourage you to read more, to absorb what you read & look at words in a different light, you’ll be amazed how deep reading can take you so keep a notebook, pen & dictionary close by & begin to feed your soul!

ARE YOU ON THE BATTLEFIELD?
It is in those times when we feel we’re on the battlefield that Jesus is right there in front of us surrounding us with that hedge of protection, no matter what bullets the enemy shoots at us we will not perish, sure we will be wounded, scarred & even discouraged at times but we will perish because we are surrounded by that hedge of protection if we are on the Lords side

…………REST………..
What comes to mind when you hear the word “Rest”? we all could use some of that, couldn't we? In Genesis we find that God rested on the seventh day(Gen.2:2) throughout the middle of Gods word we find we can rest in Jesus knowing whatever comes our way we can find peace because God is able to supply all of our needs (Matt.11:28) in the end we find rest from our labors (Rev.14:13)
REST…. the act or state of ceasing from work, activity,or motion Peace, ease or refreshment from sleeping (dictionary)
notice how the dictionary connects the word rest with peace, all through God's word he tells us if we will rest in him,he will will give us peace

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,he leadeth me beside the still waters
He restoreth my soul, he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name sake
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, thou annointtest my head with oil, my cup runneth over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever
PSALM 23
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

SHELTERED FROM THE STORMS
It hasn’t been that long ago that our town suffered a tremendous blow from tornados & now they ‘ve popped their ugly little heads back up with devastation & death all around surrounding areas, we pray for peace & recovery for those in need as well as give him praise for keeping his hand on our families
as winds are blowing, trees are crackling, sounds of heavy rain along with sirens going off I was reminded of another storm long ago with a man on board whom when awaken simply said peace be still & turned to those who were sore afraid & asked why are ye so fearful, how is it that ye have no faith?
and there arose a great storm of wind and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now full, and he was in the hinder part of the ship asleep on a pillow and they awake him and say unto him Master careest thou not that we perish? And he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great calm, and he said unto them why are ye so fearful?how is it that ye have no faith? (Matt.4:37-40)
It was Peter’s faith that allowed him to walk on the water,it was when his fear overtook his faith that he began to sink, don’t let fear overtake your faith, keep your eyes on Jesus and you will hear that still small voice saying shhhhhh peace be still

ARE YOU AN APPLE?
(Deut.32:10) tells us that we are the apple of his eye
he found him in a desert land in the waste howling wilderness he led him about,he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye
( Prov. 7:2) says keep my commandments and live in my law as the apple of thine eye
the phrase apple of his eye refers to something or someone who is very precious or dear, if we are the apple of his eye then we are precious to him, he hides us under the shadow of his wings, Zech.2 tells us if anyone or anything touches us thy have touched the apple of his eye, TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED! (Ps 105;25).
if we love him then we will want to keep his commandments
(John 14:23 )Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him.
if you’ve believed and excepted Jesus as your Lord and savior then you are the apple of his eye, you are special to him, you are his pride and joy
so the next time you see an apple remind yourself
“I am the apple of his eye”

JESUS LOVES ME
Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong.
Refrain:
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
Did you grow up learning that sweet little songs as a child? HAVE YOU COUNTED YOUR BLESSINGS LATELY?
The Story Behind Count Your Blessings
Johnson Oatman, Jr. grew up in New Jersey in the middle of the 19th Century singing hymns with his father. His life is a testimony to the legacy left by a loving Father who sings praise to God with his children! Johnson grew up to become a bi-vocational Methodist minister and he wrote over 5,000 hymns, including Count Your Blessings in 1897. Count Your Blessings is considered his finest hymn and for over one century it has been one of our most loved hymns. It’s a song of thankfulness to God that his sung by English speaking people around the world on Thanksgiving Day and all year long. see more on the History of Count Your Blessings

SINCE I SAW YOU LAST
(UPDATE FOR ALL BLOGS)
Do you know that ole saying, when it rains it pours? seems like it’s been raining a lot “LIFE” that is, Feb, it was one thing after another with the computer, sewing, uploading pictures anything to do with sewing , you name it & it went ka pootie lol! then we have March, we had to admit my dad into the hospital & into ICU he went, he is home now but still have a ways to go to being completely well, him & mom are staying at my sisters until he gets back to his ole self again
as far as sewing goes, I am working getting all those post uploaded late as they may be, I am walking away from doing anymore new challenges till we get mom & dad back home
the wrap dress for the Miss Bossy challenge won by a mudslide with 22 votes to 5 on the others
so I’m finishing that up in-between life's happenings, speaking of happenings, as many of you know I have other blogs & I often ask what you'd like to see more of & encourage you to put your two cents worth in, I guess no one has 2c to put an opinion in but that’s ok I love all my little “peekers” I know they're out there they’re just not making their presence known lol!
blogging may be a little slow right now but I’ll never be in it for the popularity, I do it because I enjoy it & if life gets in the way that's ok, blogging is like having company, when someone knocks on the door aren’t we glad to see them? offer them a cool drink? sit on the porch? etc? do we cry if nobody comes the next day? noooo do we worry that no one will ever come again? noooo, we go about our routine & embrace the next visit because we know all is well!

THE WORD PART TWO
*what is the word?
*what does the word do for us
* what are we to do with the word?
*why is the word so important?
These are good things to ponder, when we study the word we find that we are to
BELIEVE THE WORD (Luke 8:12)
RECEIVE THE WORD (Prov.2:1)
HOPE IN THE WORD (Ps.19:114)
the word is favorable news, scripture, what we call the gospel
to do these things this we must
SEEK THE WORD (Prov.2)
STUDY THE WORD (2Tim.2:15)
HIDE THE WORD IN OUR HEART (Ps.119:33-35).
and thus we learn to
LIVE IN THE WORD (Matt.4:4)
WALK IN THE WORD (Deut.5:33)
ACKNOWLEDGE THE WORD (Prov.3:6)
the word equips us to be able to stand so that we may be prepared to go out and
PROCLAIM THE WORD (Jer.3:12)
TEACH THE WORD (Col.3:16)(Matt.28:19)
PREACH THE WORD (2Tim.4:2)
1Peter 1 :3-11 explains how God’s Word is eternal that through faith we are kept by the power of God and though we have not yet seen him we believe in him & rejoice with joy unspeakable, the grass withereth and the flower falleth away but the word of the Lord endureth forever!

THE WORD PART ONE
WORD:
* A small combination of sounds represented in writing*favorable news*scriptures, the Gospel
THINGS TO PONDER:
Why does 2 Tim tell us it's important to study the word?
Why does Psalms tell us it's important to hide the word in our heart?
Why does Proverbs tell us to bind up the word in our heart?
Why does Peter tell us we should have an answer for why we believe what we say we believe?
*study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth(2Tim.2:15)
* thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee (Ps.119:11)
* let not mercy and truth forsake thee, bind them about thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thine heart (Prov.3:3)
* But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear 1Peter 3:15)
Have you read Psalms 119 ? it is full of encouragement of the word so take time to read it, savor it, meditate on it, receive it!

HIDE THE WORD IN YOUR HEART
Psalm 119:33-35
Teach me oh Lord the way of they statutes and I shall keep it unto the end
Give me understanding and I shall keep thy law yea I shall observe it with my whole heart
Make me go into the path of thy commandments for therein do I delight
(119:16) I will delight myself in they statutes, I will not forget thy word
(2Timothy 2:15 ) reminds us to study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth
the 119 chapter of psalms is a long one with 176 verses but so worth the read, it is filled with meditating on God’s word & his excellency & to delight in the word as it is sweeter than honey & it lights the path of our feet
read it! savor it!
